Snow clings to the rocks
like a memory that won't let go.
The beach is empty,
except for the hush
of wind threading through the cold air,
and the slow, blue breath
of the sea.
Resolutions drift
like gulls-
some will land,
some will vanish
into the pale horizon.
I walk the line
where old tide meets new,
pockets full of small intentions,
heart open
to whatever light
the new year brings.
